This Tuesday's Grill @ RBV lunch saw our usual customers, plus a couple of new folks. We served about 50 people from 11 a.m. until 12:27 p.m., when Don Letbetter and Johnny came in just under the wire to grab the last couple of turkey burgers and hamburgers. They were lucky we had some left!
We have a well-oiled Grill Team right now: Frank Cowan is rotating with Carrie Zimmerman (who worked the cashier station this month) as Grill Chef. New guys Mort and Jim have jumped right in, with Mort McFatridge working the Expeditor role and Jim Jiminez moving fast as the Asst. Grill Chef. Fran Murphy cheerfully zooms around the kitchen as the mistress of Order Prep and Arlene Navarro carefully watches the condiments, salad, chips, cole slaw, coffee and iced tea. Pat Satre had the day off to continue her new career as a pro golfer.
We are in the process of "cross training" everyone so we can quickly and easily fill any position if needed. We are proud to say the team has a positive attitude and a fun time while working hard to ensure RBV residents can enjoy an excellent lunch at a reasonable price.
Speaking of price....the cost of food and supplies is rising. We are looking at raising our prices slightly in the coming months. Hamburgers, cheeseburgers and turkey burgers will be $6.00. Hot dogs and polish dogs will be $5.00. Veggie burgers will stay at $5.00. Salad and chili bowls will remain at $2.00. Again, this is next expected to happen until October. It's still a great deal when you figure you don't have to risk your life and leave the park, and the price includes a soft drink or bottled water, iced tea, coffee, salad and cole slaw, chili, and chips!
As always, we welcome constructive criticism and suggestions.
