On the second Thursday of each month everyone is invited to come and work on their own craft project in a group setting.  The first craft day will fall on Thursday, September 13th, 10 am to 3 pm in the clubhouse.

Enjoy a few hours crafting and socializing with friends while completing those unfinished projects or start a new one.  Bring your supplies/tools and a brown bag lunch.  Hope to see you there!

RBV Emergency Management Team

Our first RBV EMT (Emergency Management Team) training was held Thursday, 12 April at the Incident Command Post (clubhouse). We are fortunate to have ten committed residents who will respond in case of a serious emergency at the park.

The training Thursday consisted of a quick review of the Incident Command System Command (ICS) Staff, with emphasis on the Incident Commander. The team went over a "If You Are the First Person Here" checklist, to be used in an emergency. The checklist is a reminder of the steps necessary to set up an incident command post at the clubhouse. Under ICS the first person to arrive at the scene is in charge as the incident commander until relieved. At RBV that means the first member of the EMT will get the command post supplies out, review a checklist, and either assign the next person to arrive the duty of damage assessment, or do it himself. The Incident Commander will then start operations and set up communications with the city's Emergency Operations Center or other center.

Our next training session is set for 24 May at 2pm at the clubhouse. We will conduct a "tabletop" exercise using a disaster scenario that will help familiarize the team with damage assessment, status boards, and communications.

Sound interesting? We welcome more team members. Just call Bill Mountford at 928.8123.
